UPDATE
About the
Safety Fair
Since the first Safety Fair in 2005, the safety fair has been an annual event working to educate both parents and children about safety and health in Moscow, Idaho and the Palouse.
In 2023, the Board of Directors of the Officer Newbill Kids Safety Fair was very excited to announce the resumption of the fair. "It was a real disappointment not being able to have the fair for two years," stated Board President Jon Kimberling. He went on to say that there seemed to be some pent up excitement and energy behind the resumption of the event.
This year the Safety Fair will take place on Saturday, June 1 from 10 to 2 at the Eastside Marketplace parking lot. Parents will be able to avail themselves of numerous resources to enhance the safety of their kids. One of the popular items is the bike helmets. Everything at the fair is free. All are invited to attend this special event that continues to honor Officer Lee Newbill, the only Moscow police officer to die in the line of duty serving the citizens of Moscow.
